About Dave Schmidt

Dave Schmidt is a lifelong resident of Frederick, Maryland, with a strong commitment to both his community and professional endeavors. Raised in Frederick, he is deeply rooted in the community and our culture and values. He lives right on 6th Street and is willing to talk to anyone about how to make Frederick even better.

Professional Background:

  • Military Service: Dave served in the United States Marine Corps from 2006 to 2013, including a deployment in Iraq, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. 





     

  • Frederick Air: Following his military service, he joined Frederick Air in 2010, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the company's operations. In 2017, he was honored as one of the "Top 40 Under 40 HVACR Professionals" by industry publication The NEWS.

Community Involvement:

  • Dave has served on several local boards and commissions:
    Transportation Services Advisory Council
    Frederick Green Team (the precursor to the Sustainability Commission)
    Excessive Use of Police Services
    Frederick Workforce Development Board
    CTC Advisory Board
    Frederick County CTE Advisory Board, and other Program Advisory Councils

  • Frederick Community College Foundation: Dave has served on the board of the FCC Foundation since 2019 contributing to the advancement of educational initiatives in the region. Read More
     

  • Local Businesses and Charities: As a co-owner of Wag’s Restaurant, he has invested in preserving local heritage. His community service also includes roles with organizations like the Salvation Army and WFMD's Christmas Cash for Kids, as well as helping produce the yearly WFRE St. Jude Radiothon Listen Here
